Painting walls with house fence color ( สี รั้ว บ้าน which is the term in Thai)is not as easy and quick as you think, especially when looking for a lasting and quality result. It is not just “put your hand in the paint” and go out and paint around. The painting itself is the finishing touch to this whole process.
1 – Protect The Places And Objects That Should Not Be Exposed
All furniture and large objects must be removed from the place that will be painted so that they do not run the risk of being harmed during the process, and even so, it does not hinder the movement of those who are going to paint.
If you cannot remove them, you should at least move them to a place that does not disturb much and protect them with covers. Abusing the newspaper on the floor and tapes on the baseboards is also essential to not soil the environment more than necessary.
2 – Clean The Walls
The wall must be cleaned with a broom or cloth to remove excess dust.
3 – Repair imperfections (peeling walls, holes, cracks, mold)
If the wall is peeling, use a spatula and remove any loose parts. In the case of holes and cracks, the good old putty resolves, applying it in the places it deems necessary.
In the case of mold, it is recommended to apply bleach (chlorine) to the affected walls, allowing the product to act for about 1 hour, cleaning it after the estimated period.
When using putty or bleach, allow the walls to dry completely before performing the following steps.
4 – Sand And Clean (Again)
After performing the steps above, you must send all the walls to leave them on the same level, and after that, clean the walls again with a damp cloth and wait for drying.
5 – Apply The Wall Sealer
The sealer is essential to prepare the walls before receiving the paint. It provides the filling of the pores of the walls, making the application of the paint easier, and there is no waste of the product since the wall will not “suck” more paint than it should.
It should be allowed to dry, according to the time estimated in the product instructions, so that you can finish the preparation and paint.
